Mobilisation is our core competence. And not
only when it comes to securing jobs. Employee
competence and commitment have made vehi-
cles with conventional drive-trains bestsellers
worldwide. We, at IG Metall Baden-Wuerttem-
berg, want to make sure that the cars of the fu-
ture are not only produced on computers, but are
manufactured here as well.
Within the Schaufenster Elektromobilität project,
we prepare workers for the changes coming in
the working environment, together with many
other strong partners. The Schauwerkstatt pro-
ject, for example, endeavours to raise worker
awareness of the technology change lying ahead
of us and provides training and qualification.
IG Metall Baden-Wuerttemberg represents the
interests of almost half a million union members.
Our members work in more than 2,000 com-
panies in the metal and electrical industries, in
the craft trades, textile and clothing industries,
and in the timber and plastics industries. Twelve
thousand elected work council members are
members of the IG Metall union and stand for
the interests of their workforces.
Our ‘Future Strategy: Employment – safe and
fair’ is our contribution to an ecologically and
socially sustainable future. This includes good
working conditions and secure jobs. So that
electric mobility not only opens up markets but
also creates jobs. This is our goal.
