Internationalisation
The International Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exhibition (EVS) is the world’s largest conference and trade fair focused on electric mobility. At this year’s EVS, the State Agency e-mobil BW, together with its network partners, is presenting sustainable mobility solutions from Baden-Württemberg in the host country, Sweden.
From June 15 to 18, 2025, the 38th International Electric Vehicle Symposium & Exhibition (EVS38) will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden. This international conference and trade fair, which was previously held in Stuttgart in 2017, once again brings together numerous experts on electrification and digitalization in mobility. The event in Gothenburg is expected to attract around 11,000 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors.
The state of Baden-Württemberg is represented at EVS38 by Minister of Transport Winfried Hermann, who has already delivered a keynote speech as part of the conference program.
“In Europe and Germany, electric mobility is at risk of a rollback, which must be prevented for climate protection and economic policy reasons. The important climate goals and measures of the EU must not be downplayed. We cannot afford to delay the electric transformation any longer with recurring debates about e-fuels. It is clear: renewable fuels are not yet available at an industrial scale. Moreover, they will urgently be needed in the future for other sectors of transportation besides individual car traffic, such as heavy-duty transport, shipping, and aviation,” Hermann stated in his keynote.
EVS38 is organized, among others, by the European association E-Mobility Europe (formerly AVERE) and our Swedish partner organization Business Region Göteborg. As a member of the EVS38 Advisory Board, the State Agency e-mobil BW supports the outreach and involvement of network partners from Baden-Württemberg. Additionally, e-mobil BW presents Baden-Württemberg as a hub for business and innovation and is available to an international audience of experts for questions and discussions. This underscores Baden-Württemberg’s position as a key player in the European e-mobility market.
The scientific perspective is also strongly represented at EVS38. Numerous presentations and discussions have already made it clear: technological breakthroughs in charging technology, battery technology, as well as vehicle connectivity and electronics, are imminent. These advancements can play a crucial role in scaling the electric mobility market.
