e-mobil BW is set to expand its activities in the areas of skills development and workforce training to an European level: the State Agency is now a partner of the Automotive Skills Alliance (ASA). This Europe-wide alliance supports stakeholders from industry, education and politics in addressing the changing skills requirements of the automotive and mobility sector. By joining the alliance, e-mobil BW is expanding its involvement in initiatives under the European Skills Agenda and building on existing collaborations within the international network.
The Automotive Skills Alliance is a large-scale European initiative that aims to advance skills development and secure a skilled workforce in the automotive and mobility sector. As part of the EU’s Pact for Skills programme, the Alliance supports companies and workers in developing the skills required for the green and digital transitions, with the aim of securing long-term, high-quality industrial jobs in Europe.
Founded in 2020, the network now comprises numerous members from across Europe, including regions, cities, industrial companies, and educational institutions.
Many of e-mobil BW’s European partners, including the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation, Göteborgs Tekniska College, the Gothenburg Region, Business Region Gothenburg, and the ATEC consortium from the EU Voltage project, are already members of the ASA.
Through this new partnership, e-mobil BW is systematically expanding its existing training and further education activities:
Furthermore, the membership strengthens links with other European networks, including the European Automotive Cluster Network (EACN), the Alliance of Automotive Regions (ARA), and 4 Motors for Europe.
By strengthening European networking, e-mobil BW is creating new opportunities for businesses in Baden-Württemberg, especially small and medium-sized enterprises. These businesses gain access to the latest European training approaches, enabling them to respond early to new skills requirements and benefit from proven best practices from across Europe.
