Innovation Leads: 7 Points from the e-mobil BW Advisory Board

The Advisory Board of e-mobil BW has drafted a seven-point program for an innovation agenda in the automotive, electric mobility, and hydrogen sectors on behalf of its shareholder, the State of Baden-Württemberg, and the Supervisory Board. The document is titled: “Innovation Leads.”

The Advisory Board supports the state agency e-mobil BW in an advisory and supportive capacity. The board, comprising high-ranking representatives from business, academia, and industry associations, contributes additional ideas and insights to the agency’s work. In November 2025, a 7-point program for an innovation agenda in the automotive, electric mobility, and hydrogen sectors was drafted. The paper’s motto is: Innovation leads.

  1. Baden-Württemberg, as a hub for business and science, must significantly raise the level of excellence in key innovations within the leading industries of automotive, digital, and energy.
  2. In Baden-Württemberg, the framework conditions for priority investments in research, development, production, and sales must be improved.
  3. Transformation must also succeed in small and medium-sized enterprises in Baden-Württemberg. Growth areas must be tapped into more quickly.
  4. The hydrogen economy must contribute to energy security and market-competitive energy prices. Derivatives, including synthetic fuels, must be integrated into the system.
  5. Excellent research results in digital technology (IT hardware/software) from Baden-Württemberg must be brought to the automotive and energy sectors more quickly.
  6. Training in key technologies should enable employees to compete internationally and strengthen an economy- and innovation-friendly society.
  7. Cooperation with European regions and other free-trade countries must be strategically leveraged more effectively to secure Baden-Württemberg’s position in international competition

Background on the e-mobil BW Advisory Board

Since its founding in 2010, the Advisory Board has supported and guided the State of Baden-Württemberg, as a shareholder, as well as e-mobil BW GmbH in managing the transition to electric mobility and new mobility solutions. Thanks to its broad composition of stakeholders from business, science, society, and politics, the Advisory Board provides a holistic view of the necessary changes in technology, the economy, and political and legal frameworks to promote the research, development, market launch, and scaling of sustainable mobility solutions. In at least two annual meetings, the Advisory Board informs and supports the work of e-mobil BW GmbH. In addition to technological and economic issues, it also advises on current societal developments.
