The Battery Show Europe 2026 in Stuttgart was not only a showcase for the latest battery technologies, but also an important platform for international networking. Together with European partners, the state agency e-mobil BW used the leading trade fair to expand collaborations and provide new impetus for the European battery value chain.
Expertise in battery technologyis crucial for Baden-Württemberg to ensure the competitiveness of the automotive industry and create new industrial value. The participation of Baden-Württemberg-based stakeholders at the trade show was correspondingly strong: Around 50 members and partners of the Cluster Electric Mobility South-West presented their innovations across the battery value chain at Battery Show Europe 2026.
International partners were also represented at the joint booth of e-mobil BW and the Cluster Electric Mobility South-West: For example, the Finnish Tampere Automotive and Vehicle Technology Cluster, together with another Finnish company, Celltech Solutions, used the trade show to establish contacts with companies and research institutions from Baden-Württemberg and explore potential for cooperation.
A special focus was placed on the cooperation among the Four Motors for Europe. The partner regions of Baden-Württemberg, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and Catalonia presented themselves with their own joint booths and showcased their expertise along the battery value chain.
During joint trade fair tours on the topics of raw materials and battery manufacturing, companies, research institutions, and cluster organizations exchanged views on technological developments, industrial challenges, and opportunitiesfor cooperation. The activities of the Four Motors for Europe once again underscored the importance of strong regional partnerships for the competitiveness of the European battery and automotive industries.
A highlight was the joint networking evening “Powering Connections.” Around 70 exhibitors, as well as representatives from economic development agencies in Baden-Württemberg, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and Catalonia, discussed how Europe’s leading automotive regions can further deepen their cooperation and jointly contribute to Europe’s technological sovereignty
Even in the run-up to the trade show, the Swedish-German Battery Summit provided important impetus for international cooperation in battery technology. At Battery Show Europe, e-mobil BW also accompanied a Swedish business delegation and introduced selected stakeholders from the South-West Electric Mobility Cluster. Furthermore, e-mobil BW used the trade show to hold discussions with international partners from the Netherlands and Canada on current developments in the fields of battery technology, electromobility, and hydrogen infrastructure. The Battery Show Europe 2026 has thus demonstrated once again: The future of the battery and mobility industry is shaped significantly by strong international networks, technology transfer, and European cooperation.
