The Cluster Fuel Cell BW and the Cluster Electric Mobility South-West are presenting their members and partners in a joint competence guide. The digital and bundled expertise from Baden-Württemberg is now available and provides support in the search for sought-after skills for the transformation of Baden-Württemberg as a business location.

The digital Competence Guide of the two clusters Electric Mobility South-West and Fuel Cell BW offers a comprehensive overview of the market and providers in the fields of vehicles, information and communication technology, production, energy, batteries, fuel cells and hydrogen. The new tool supports the search for the skills required for the transformation in Baden-Württemberg as a business location. Only organizations that belong to one or both cluster initiatives are listed in the Competence Guide. However, use and networking via the Competence Guide is open to all interested parties.

The Competence Guide in use

The digital Competence Guide is suitable for targeted searches for specific technologies, value creation steps, parts or components. It offers various filter options, search and sorting functions. For example, interested parties can use the map view to search for companies in their area or sort by number of employees to find small organizations in particular. The guide covers those questions and many more: 

  • Which companies from Baden-Württemberg have which competencies for the development and production of fuel cell stacks? To do this, select the 'Development' and 'Production' filters in the 'Field of activity' section and set the 'Fuel cell / stack' filter in 'Components: Powertrain'.
  • Which organizations offer training courses on hydrogen? In the 'Field of activity' area, select the filter 'Service educational offers' and select the cluster 'Fuel Cell BW'
  • Which machine and plant manufacturers can build hydrogen tanks? To do this, select the filter 'Mechanical and plant engineering' under 'Further options' in the 'Systems' section and set the filter 'Hydrogen tanks' in the 'Complete vehicle components' section.
  • Which machine and plant manufacturers have which skills in the battery sector? To do this, select the filter 'Mechanical and plant engineering' under 'Further options' in the 'Systems' section and select 'Traction battery' in the 'Powertrain components' section.
  • Which companies in the Cluster Electric Mobility South-West have expertise in the development and production of electric motors? To do this, select the 'Development and production' filter in the 'Field of activity' section and specify the search in the 'Powertrain components' section with the 'E-motor/generator' filter.

Cooperations & partnerships

In future, all of the approx. 400 partners and members will be listed in the Competence Guide of the Cluster Electric Mobility South-West and the Cluster Fuel Cell BW. Each organization has also stored contact data. In this way, the digital Competence Guide also supports the initiation of new collaborations in particular and shows the way to the right contact person.
